What is share index?

Share index is a group of company shares with certain characteristics (industry, service, stock exchange) which calculated with price weighted method or market capitalization. Price weighted method calculates share index based on average price, whereas market capitalization method uses market capitalization element in the calculation.

 

Which product is best based on the offered investment?

Our specialization is futures index derivative that covers Nikkei 225 and Hang Seng 43. Basically, all products have the same concept, but there are certain differences like method of calculation, number of shares listed, country of origin, and fluctuation.

 

Based on trading mechanism and legality, is my investment in Trijaya Pratama Futures secure?

Index only traded overseas. Index traded inside and outside the country and in Indonesia foreign index simulation like Nikkei and Hang Seng is traded in Bursa Berjangka Jakarta. The fund invested in Trijaya Pratama Futures handed over to an authorized clearing and guaranteed institution under government control, in this case PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia for futures market. Therefore, the fund not kept in PT. Trijaya Pratama Futures.

 

What is Bursa Berjangka Jakarta?

Bursa Berjangka Jakarta (The Jakarta Futures Index) is an exchange where all futures investment products traded officially (aside from Bursa Efek Surabaya). The bourse traded overseas indexes officially in the form of simulation, together with other futures products, such as gold, olein, coffee, sugar, exchange rate, etc.

 

Does Trijaya Pratama Futures act as Trader?

Based on Bappebti regulation, being a trader for the investment is illegal. Market maker is different with trader, because market maker places order through market mechanism while trader is in opposition with investor and not place it through the market. Bappebti perform auditing periodically to ensure every transaction.

I heard that index investment is a highly risk investment. Could the company guarantee that investors will not experience loss?

Based on the characteristics and types, the investment is categorized as a high risk investment with a relatively high return (high risk, high return). We don’t guarantee that investors will not experience loss, but we will do our best to give recommendation to gain the expected return by limiting/minimized loss, using stop loss strategy, for instance 5% from invested fund.

 

Why do I experience loss (although I already follow the recommendations)?

Generally, our analysis is 75% accurate and in carry out transaction, the quantity of profitable positions more compared with the loss ones. (7 profits and 3 losses), but the quality of profits from 7 times transactions are smaller than losses in 3 times transactions. This happened mostly because investors do not have enough discipline in trading plan and capital management through stop order/hedge order strategy.

 

How many levels of return are expected form this investment?

Return always related to risk. Even though the investment considered highly risk, investors could determine the high or low of risk. With a thoughtful and careful transaction, investor could gain 25%-50% return in a year, with 15%-30% risk tolerance.

 

Does Trijaya Pratama Futures could give fixed return? My friend was involved in this business before and lost a billion rupiah. I am afraid that the same thing will happen to me too.

Actually, index investment provides unlimited return but to achieve the target the risk must be limited, therefore we do not limit investors’ profit. Other reason is that it will be violating the rule as a market maker. However, we assist investors to apply risks control in order to minimized losses. Generally, we provide guidance of market direction, make trading plan then prepared to trade, as investor will. We then confirm him/her about the carry out transaction so he/she could control his/her investment.

Is it true that the investment is different from gambling, because in my opinion it has the same characteristics even though there is an analyzing part (for instance, market news). Gambling also needs analysis.

Gambling is a “game of chance”, but business, including this one follows “universal law” where there is a chance of winning or losing. In a “game of chance”, after the dice thrown several times, the probability for next throw to hit the target is still the same as the first one. It is different with investing, because each component have cause and effect relations.

 

Does Trijaya Pratama Futures, as the brokerage, trade index?

As a brokerage, Trijaya Pratama Futures does not have an account but as market maker the remaining transactions will be hedged to each market in each country. In KBI, this account separated from investors’ so it will not affect the transactions. However, according to the rules, management as an individual not allowed to trade to prevent conflict of interest.

 

I have busy schedules everyday. If I invest in financial products, I am afraid I could not concentrate.

There are two methods of trading. In order not to distract you from your schedules, we usually provide trade plan everyday, which covers direction, entry point, stop loss point, and profit point. It is to assist your transaction, so we will only contact you if the price comes to those points in certain tolerance unless you ask us to contact you more often. Another one is investor grant us complete authority to represent him/her.
